Child Protection
Our Child Protection programs ensure that children in Jammu & Kashmir grow up in safe, nurturing environments. Through prevention of abuse, elimination of child labour, creation of safe spaces, and awareness on drug abuse, we are building stronger protection systems.
1. Child Labour
Child labour prevents children from accessing education and living safe childhoods. JKASW works to eliminate child labour by mainstreaming children into schools and linking families to social protection
- 44 child labourers mainstreamed
- 148 out-of-school children enrolled
- 3,857 children supported in education programs
- 697 families linked to social security schemes
2. Safe Spaces
Safe spaces create nurturing environments for children and adolescents, where they can play, learn, and receive psychosocial support.
- 50 CFS/ARC centres established
- 10,000+ children and adolescents reached
- 1,250 counselling sessions delivered
- 11,248 psycho-education sessions conducted
3. Prevention of Abuse
JKASW strengthens families, schools, and communities to prevent abuse and violence against children, including gender-based violence, online abuse, and exploitation
4. Drug Abuse
Substance abuse is a growing threat to children and youth. JKASW creates awareness, builds resilience, and promotes healthier alternatives through life skills and sports initiatives.
- Thousands of parents and youth sensitized about the dangers of drugs.
- Volunteers trained to lead prevention campaigns.
- Communities reported reduced drug use and stronger awareness.
